National School Environment Week
Along with a team of construction industry experts, we were excited to be part of the
Southfield Primary School makeover. This event marked the National School Environments Week (23rd - 27th of June) and aims to highlight the importance of school buildings to teachers, pupils and the communities they serve.
The makeover of three key areas of the school received TV exposure when it was featured on BBC TV Breakfast on Monday at the start of the project and again on Friday when the grand unveiling took place. Focusing on the art room, we provided plan chests, tray units and seating which supports correct posture and back care. ESA are keen to support projects where the inclusion of teacher and pupil consultation is part of the final design. We would like to thank Stage Systems, Sebel and Certwood for their contribution.
Ty Goddard, Director of the
British Council for School Environments (BCSE) was reported as saying, 'The makeover will bring together limited resources with unlimited imagination and show how a learning environment can be altered beyond recognition.' We couldn't agree more.
