Building Schools For the Future
Building Schools for the Future, or BSF as it is commonly known, is a new strategic approach to capital investment in education. The aim is to refurbish or renew every secondary school in England over a 10 15 year period. BSF will include all stakeholders in their consultations on design and use of facilities at each school.
Seventeen local education authorities were asked to take part in the first wave of the programme when the funding was released in 2005/2006. The government agency Partnerships for Schools is working with the LEAs, helping them to select a private sector partner and procure the appropriate services.
We at ESA McIntosh are using our expertise and experience to assist in the design and development of the FF&E element of these projects. We have been given the opportunity to demonstrate our range of innovative furniture at various BSF exhibitions held this year and we are looking forward to starting to work with the second and third waves of projects over the coming months.
